Singapore—15 Aug 2004—Health Aesthetics, premier medical retreat consultants, announced that the company organised tours to Bangkok for 30 Singaporeans over the National Day period[1], 12 of which were patients undergoing LASIK surgery at the Thailand Refractive Surgery Centre (TRSC). The remaining 18 travelers were accompanying family members and friends, there to lend moral support to the patients and to also enjoy a holiday of their own.

 

“With LASIK surgery becoming more and more popular amongst Singaporeans, it was no surprise to see so many people taking advantage of the National Day public holiday to schedule their operation in the week leading up to it, allowing for time to recover over the long weekend.” said Dr. Toh Wai Keong of Health Aesthetics.

 

“For those who were not undergoing surgery, the idea of a holiday to Bangkok for excellent shopping, fantastic food, and the colourful nightlife was appealing. In addition to this, they were able to be there for their loved ones undergoing surgery.”

 

Despite the high number of travelers within that one-week, Health Aesthetics was well equipped with sufficient staff to handle the schedules of the patients and their families. The company had four chauffeurs, two client relations officers, one operations staff and one medical consultant to ensure that everything went smoothly.

 

Within this capacity, Health Aesthetics is capable of servicing 12 to 15 patients a week. They even have freelance staff on standby should the need arise for additional assistance. In addition to this, all staff are English speaking for the convenience of the visiting Singaporeans.

 

Mr. Chan Hoe Kit, one of the patients over the National Holiday period, said, “There is much to be said of Thai hospitality — we were made to feel like a million dollars. We were very impressed with the high level of service we received from both the Health Aesthetics And TRSC staff who were extremely professional.”

 

He continued, “We were greeted by name once we walked in and were escorted practically everywhere we went in the center while explaining to us what was happening every step of the way. They were efficient, friendly and were genuine in their concern for our comfort… definitely very reassuring for us.”

 

Health Aesthetics arranges its clients to undergo LASIK surgery by Dr. Ekktet Chansue, a widely respected surgeon in the specialty area of refractive surgery. Dr. Chansue was recognized as the first surgeon to perform LASIK in Thailand during his time as Director of Cornea and Refractive Surgery Service at Ramathibodi Hospital (1993-2001).

 

Medical assurance is also granted by Health Aesthetics to protect its clients. In the unforeseen event that complications arise out of the operation, patients will not be charged for subsequent treatment at TRSC.
